Gregory D. Barton CPA & Associates, Inc. is a premiere accounting firm serving predominately Southern California, with clients ranging from San Diego to Florida. We have offices in Palm Springs and Palmdale, both of which embody a unique blend of old-fashioned service with cutting-edge accounting techniques.

We take pride in the fact that we are a paperless office. In an accounting firm, that means we are saving thousands of trees. Furthermore, in the summer (it is Palm Springs after all) we reduce our Friday afternoon hours, not only because it is fun, but because those are the most expensive hours of the day to run the Air Conditioning while all those computers are humming along. Greg and Dee Dee can be seen driving all over town in their Electric GEM car. There! How’s that for Green?

Gregory D. Barton

Greg is not your typical CPA. Though he does wear glasses and is extremely detail oriented, Greg has a huge heart, and a passion for people. He is fast and dynamic. He’ll go to any length to take care of his family, which is a great thing, as he feels that his clients are like his family.
Fortunately Greg loves a great party, and in being married to Dee Dee, that’s a required passion. He is proud to call himself a devoted soccer and ballet dad.

Formerly CFO of an environmental manufacturing company, Greg’s extensive experience in raising capital helped launch and develop several of his own successful Public Accounting firms.
Greg received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cal State Fullerton in 1979 and received his certification in Public Accounting in 1985. He has been doing this a long time. According to his clients Greg is the best there is, bar none.

Dee Dee Wilson Barton

Dee Dee was a Director of Development for UCLA (she is an alumna) before she and Greg married and started their family. Dee Dee currently raises two daughters and trains three (three too many) dogs, in addition to overseeing the firm’s business marketing, expansion and PR.

Her favorite mode of transportation is her little electric GEM car. Her favorite travel destination is anywhere not too far away. She is also the Site Counsel President for the local elementary school.
Dee Dee’s favorite activity is to entertain for her family, friends and clients. She likes a sweet martini, cool high heels, compliments and babysitters. She feels that planning a party is the solution to all of life’s challenges and tax planning dilemmas.

George R. Sutton

George R. Sutton joined Gregory D. Barton CPA & Associates, Inc. in October, 2007 after heading up his own firm in the Coachella Valley for 20 years.

George earned his BA in Accounting from Woodbury University, and draws on his more than 35 years of public accounting experience to address your needs. He has a particular affinity for taxation and bookkeeping accounting.

He has generously provided tax and accounting services to many charitable non-profit organizations, including Elks and Moose Lodges, the American Legion, and the VFW. In his spare time George and his wife Mary enjoy fishing and traveling in their RV.

Zelda Childress

Born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana South America, Zelda immigrated to the United States as young student who later became a naturalized citizen.

Zelda started her career in the public accounting field and then left to work in both the non-profit and retail arena. She has returned to her roots as Staff Accountant for Gregory D. Barton, CPA.

Her areas of expertise include reconciling accounts, preparation of payroll tax returns, sales, and individual tax returns.

In her spare time Zelda reads, keeps up with current events, spends time with good friends, and volunteers in the community when possible.

Troy McFadin

Troy’s wide range of skills and eclectic resume are valued assets that enable us to provide superlative service to our esteemed clients.

Before beginning his business career, Troy served in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist.

In 1997 as a litigation paralegal, Troy worked on complex legal cases but quickly found his home in Human Resources and Operations/Facilities Management.

Since then he has broadened his experience as a Benefits Administrator for a local casino (overseeing a full benefit package for more than 1,300 employees) and Office Manager/Bookkeeper for a real estate development company.

Arthur Hersch

Arthur has been providing accounting services for the past eight years.

He graduated from Cal State San Bernardino in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting.

In Arthur’s free time he likes to spend time with his daughter and relax.

Teri is the “Go-To” person at Greg Barton CPA.  A mother of four, Teri brings heart and soul to all she does, whether it is taking care of clients, or taking care of the staff or taking care of her family.

Teri combines a background in taxes and accounting, with a real gift for customer service.  Many years as a property manager here in the Coachella Valley also increased her knowledge of local businesses and their needs. Born and raised in Palm Springs, Teri is a Football/Ballet Mom who seems to be six degrees of separation from everyone she meets!
